Compton Restaurant

Soft and Elegant concepts for Compton Restaurant

We worked with the client to curate a soft but elegant palette. Bauwerk paint was used on the walls and ceilings, the dust pink used as a backdrop to enhance the Guatemala marble on the bar. We wanted to soften the bar and designed a scallop detail to the front with white mosaic tiles. Behind the bar an antiqued mirror reflects the light from the scallop shell wall light and at night serves to create depth in the space.

The bistro curtains create a cocoon to the restaurant and by night the large windows with the soft fabric glowing from the warm lights inside create an inviting view from the street.

The rich green tone runs throughout the restaurant in the upholstery of the banquette and the green leather of the chairs. We sourced a velvet fabric from Beata Hueman for the brass bar stools and also included bespoke round cushions for the banquette.

Reclaimed herringbone timber flooring was installed, a sympathetic style to the buildings origins and creating beautiful movement as you move across the floor.

Project completed with Thirdway, London.
